What the Opportunity entails:

An intelligent, interesting and ‘with it’ older person with poor eyesight and reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for their home to give a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

They would value the friendly reassurance and company of someone living in the home. Although quite independent, they would appreciate some general practical help around the home such as help with filing paperwork, picking up some shopping/prescriptions, cooking a few simple healthy meals, light cleaning and tidying, taking sheets to the launderette every fortnight, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may arise.

The accommodation on offer is a large double bedroom with ample storage, a small desk and a sofa. The upstairs bathroom is mainly for the Sharer’s sole use, except when the householder has a family friend or guest staying from time-to-time. Please note there is no washing machine, but are local launderettes to wash and dry clothes. There is use of the kitchen but  Share’s meals have to be eaten in their room as there is no dining area for Sharers use.

The property is in a lovely residential location just 7 minutes’ walk from Fulham Broadway underground station and shopping centre and close to many bus routes.

This person is a published author and enjoys the Guardian newspaper, listening to Radio 4, current affairs, history and TV dramas. There is a tiny patio garden in need of some tlc and a Sharer would be very welcome to help if they enjoyed gardening.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
