What the Opportunity entails:

A kind and friendly older person with reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

This person would value the friendly reassurance of having someone around their home in the evenings and overnight, and for some shared meals and conversation. They have other support in place would also appreciate some practical help with tasks such as picking up shopping and prescriptions, cooking four or five evening meals each week, light housework, taking out bins, and other ad hoc errands and tasks as may be useful.

The accommodation on offer is a spacious bedroom furnished with a king sized bed and fitted wardrobes. There is a shower room, mainly for the Sharer’s use but shared with visiting family.

The property is in an excellent location with a lovely garden and deck, and only a 10-minute walk to the coast and 10 minutes bus rise to Folkestone Station. There is a garage to store a bicycle and a driveway for parking a car.

The person enjoys listening to Radio 2, watching TV – programmes such as the Repair Shop, Pointless and other quiz programmes. Cooking and gardening programmes and keeping up with the news. They enjoy crosswords and Wordle, some arts and crafts, and their family.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
