Available from: 13/10/2024
Opportunity Location:
IP13 -The property is located in a small rural village just 5 minutes’ drive (30 mins walk) from the lovely market town of Woodbridge, and 25 minutes’ drive from Ipswich.
What the Opportunity entails:
A warm and friendly elderly person with poor memory and reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.
This person would mainly benefit from the reassurance of someone living with them overnight, and taking their small dog for a short evening walk. They will also really enjoy the company of having someone living in their home for a few shared meals and chats. They are well-supported, but also a little light practical help around the home, cooking occasional meals, prompts and reminders, and ad hoc other practical help and errands.
The accommodation on offer is a double bedroom, currently furnished with a double bed (although the furniture can be changed around), shared use of the rest of the cottage – bathroom, sitting room, kitchen and garden – and the possibility of the use of a further rom if someone needed separate space to work from home, for example.
The property is located in a small rural village just 5 minutes’ drive (30 mins walk) from the lovely market town of Woodbridge, and 25 minutes’ drive from Ipswich.
The person loves their dog, watching and feeding the birds, reading newspapers, doing Sudoku, gardening and watching TV in the evenings. They enjoy other people’s company.
As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to give some company and help around the home.
