What the Opportunity entails:

A friendly and interesting older person with reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

This person would really benefit from some practical help around the house with day-to-day tasks such as shopping, a little help in the garden, carrying in logs, laying the fire, occasional cooking, and other ad hoc practical help and errands, plus the friendly reassurance of having someone around their home in the evenings/overnight. They have two friendly and much-loved pets; a short-haired cat and a Norfolk Terrier.

The accommodation on offer is a single bedroom with a spacious wardrobe and two chests of drawers, shower room (and use of another bathroom for a bath), and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden/

The property is located in the village of Yetmister, just 5 mins walk from the station, and 6 miles to Sherborne (15 mins drive). There is parking available.

The person’s interests include reading the newspaper, listening to Classic FM and Radio 4, watching documentaries and wildlife programmes, the news, and National Hunt Racing. They also enjoy crosswords, board games and playing Mah-Jong.  They are also very keen on their garden and would appreciate some help with this.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
