What the Opportunity entails:

A friendly older gentleman with poor memory and reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for his home to give him a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around his home in the evenings and overnight. He would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, preparing around four or five simple meals each week (either supper, or porridge for breakfast), light cleaning and tidying, prompts and reminders and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a good-sized bedroom on the ground floor of the house, currently furnished with a single bed, desk chair and small chest of drawers and a sofa (Nb the sofa could be replaced with a wardrobe) and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room, and garden.

The property is well-located, approx. 17 minutes’ walk from Queensbury Station (Jubilee Line) or 25 mins walk from Edgware (Northern Line).

Originally from Jamaica, the gentleman loves company, especially as he can no longer get out of his house much. He is a Christian and loves to read the bible, Christian songs and to watch the news and Christian TV. He enjoys eating Jamaican food.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
