Available from: 13/12/2024
Opportunity Location:
Carlisle CA2, the property is on the west side of Carlisle close to two bus routes, 25 minutes to Carlisle Station by bus, or 15 minutes’ cycle ride into the centre of the city.
What the Opportunity entails:
An elderly lady with very poor memory and mobility is seeking a Sharer for her home to give a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.
She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having a Sharer, plus some friendly company, encouraging her to do her exercises, reading to her, perhaps accompanying on walks, occasional cooking and help keeping the home clean and tidy. She is well supported by Carers who come three times a day to look after all her care needs, and her adult son also lives in the property and is very involved in her support, but this would also give him the opportunity to go out more when you are at home to provide ‘cover’.
The accommodation on offer is a good-sized room, currently furnished with a single bed (could be changed to a double), wardrobe, table and chair. There is a large wet room that is shared with the both the elderly lady and her son, and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden. There is also another small room that could be used as a study if someone was working from home on some days.
The property is on the west side of Carlisle close to two bus routes, 25 minutes to Carlisle Station by bus, or 15 minutes’ cycle ride into the centre of the city.
The lady is very smiley and enjoys company. She loves going to church, being accompanied on outings on her mobility scooter, having books read to her and having people chat to her.
As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
If you are interested, please fill in the Sharer Application Form and we will be in touch and can then give you more details about this specific situation.
