What the Opportunity entails:

An elderly couple with Parkinson’s and reduced memory are seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

They have some support from carers, a cleaner and gardener, but would also value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone living in their home in the evenings and overnight, and some company for the husband if his wife is out. They would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking and sharing a few meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, simple IT/tech help, accompanying on occasional outings and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom with its own bathroom and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is in an excellent location in Islington, just 5 minutes’ walk from Arsenal Underground Station.

Between them they have a range of interests including watching TV (eg detective fictions), reading (fact and fiction), reading The Guardian, plants and their garden, textiles, church, arts and the theatre. They don’t have a cat at the moment but may consider getting one if their Sharer would be happy to help care for it.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
