What the Opportunity entails:

An intelligent and educated older gentleman with reduced memory and mobility is seeking a Sharer for their home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He is very well-supported by carers and family, but would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around his home in the evenings and overnight. A little general practical help around the home such as occasionally picking up shopping, making cups of tea or the odd snack, Helping keep the home clean and tidy, prompts and reminders and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed would also be appreciated.

The accommodation on offer is a double room, currently furnished with a single bed (but this could be changed for a double) and its own en-suite bathroom, plus shared use of the kitchen – and sometimes the sitting room.

The property is in an excellent location close to Regent’s Park, just 5 minutes’ walk from Marylebone Station and 7 minutes’ walk from Baker Street station.

A retired civil engineer, he enjoys watching TV – in particular the news (CNN, ITV, Iran International) and enjoys playing chess. He is also close to his family.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
