What the Opportunity entails:

An older couple are is seeking a Sharer for their home to offer a little practical help and some friendly company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

The gentleman has memory problems, so would value the friendly reassurance of having someone else living in the home for additional company, cooking and sharing a few meals, accompanying on occasional outings and general light practical help around the home.

The accommodation on offer is furnished double bedroom, and bathroom shared with one other. There is also a bright shared kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is located in Fishponds, approx. 25-30 minutes’ bus ride to the Bristol City Centre.

The couple’s interests include cycling, wild swimming, dancing, reading the Guardian, friends and family, and often have visitors. They listen to Radio 4, 6 and 1 and listen to music on Spotify. The gentleman enjoys jigsaw puzzles, looking at art books and photos, bicycle rides and visiting the local café. They also have a cat, as well as other visiting pets, so an animal lover is essential. If a Sharer had a friendly dog to bring to the arrangement, that could work well.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of practical help plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who enjoys a conversation ideally shares some of the couple’s interests
