What the Opportunity entails:

An educated and ‘with it’ older gentleman with some memory loss is seeking a Sharer for his home to offer a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around his home in the evenings and overnight. He would also appreciate some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking up to four or five meals each week and eating some together, light cleaning and tidying, help with IT/Tech challenges, prompts and reminders, and other ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a double bedroom and shared bathroom (there is also a separate shower room) and shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden. Ther is also another room that could be used as a study (or as an alternative bedroom, to be discussed at interview*).

The property is in a lovely location in the heart of the pretty village of Goring-on-Thames, just 5 minutes’ walk from the train station (trains to Reading take 15 minutes, trains to Paddington take 1 hour) and it’s a 40 minutes’ drive to Oxford. There is parking.

The gentleman is still relatively active and enjoys walking, playing tennis, Pilates, gardening, photography, and watching the news and documentaries
