What the Opportunity entails:

A warm and kind elderly lady is seeking a Sharer for her home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She person would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. Family live nearby and help a lot, but she would also appreciate some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking and sharing a few meals, light cleaning and tidying, laundry, carrying heavier items, light help in the garden, help with the chickens, occasionally walking the dog and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom with small double bed and chest of drawers (other furniture can be agreed with the Sharer). The property has a bathroom and shower room, and there is share use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden. There is also a barn with space for someone who might want some extra space (eg as an art studio).

The property is in the market town of Ledbury, 1 mile from the station and 1 mile from the town centre. (approx. 20-25 mins walk, 10 min cycle, 5 mins drive).

The lady is an optimistic person with a varied range of interests including gardening, seeing friends and family, reading, watching dramas and documentaries, Sunday Times, Radio 4… and drumming! (when well enough, she plays in a little jazz band). She has 6 chickens and a friendly greyhound. She is very into homeopathy and natural products, and enjoys eating organic produce.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
