What the Opportunity entails:

A friendly older lady with reduced mobility and poor short-term memory is seeking a Sharer for her home to give them a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

The lady is well-supported with care in the daytime, and a few evenings, so the role of the Sharer is primarily to prepare a simple supper on four consecutive evenings each week (occasionally five, if available) and ensure the lady gets up to bed safely. She may enjoy a little company during these evenings too. There is very little other requirement, except occasionally hanging up washing, and ad hoc other practical help and errands as may be useful.

The accommodation on offer is a lovely spacious furnished double bedroom, with shared shower room, and shared use of the kitchen, garden and sitting room.

The property is conveniently located in Epsom, just 10-15 minutes’ walk from the town centre and Epsom train station.

The lady’s interests include her family and current affairs. She reads the newspapers and does the quick crossword and wordsearch. She enjoys speaking to family on the phone, and they visit regularly too (including grandchildren). She watch’s TV in the evenings, such as old-fashioned comedies, Agatha Christie films, and antiques, dancing and cookery programmes. She also enjoys reading and spending time in her garden.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home and looking for settled accommodation, preferably for a year or potentially longer.
