Share and Care Homeshare is striving to address the huge issue of loneliness and isolation among older people in the wider community both locally and across the UK. During the Covid pandemic lockdowns to ensure we remained well – connected with our clients, we started running free weekly mid-morning Seated Exercise Class on Zoom. It was so well received we have made it a regular activity on a Wednesday morning at 11am and we are offering this session free to anyone in the wider community who would like to join us. The class lasts 25-30 minutes and the exercises can all be adapted according to ability. The exercises are easy to follow, the classes are fun and it is all from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Brogan Needham from Mind, Body & Goals Fitness is fully qualified in Fitness Instructing Personal Training RQF Level 3. She is able to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective exercise programmes. She can also give advice on health, nutrition and lifestyle changes and supports all involved to progress over time. She conducts the seated exercise class via Zoom video conferencing.
Our clients tell us they really enjoy the session and it has been an opportunity for Householders and Sharers in the Share and Care family to meet each other. It is lovely to see so many smiling faces and everyone enjoyed interacting with old and new friends. Here is a short video showing some of what we did, please do join us next time, you can do as little or as much as you wish…
