What the Opportunity entails:

A warm, friendly and ‘with it’ older lady with reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for her home to give her a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation. She has had a Sharer living with her in this role for the past year who will be moving in out in January; it has been a happy arrangement.

The lady enjoys the friendship and reassurance of having someone living with her and around her home several evenings each week, and sleeping in her home. The Sharer also offers some practical help with shopping, accompanying shopping or on local outings, cooking and sharing some meals, tech support (such as with her mobile phone), light help around house and garden and ad hoc other support and errands such as walking her to church.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished single bedroom, shared use of the bathroom with separate shower, a shared study space, sitting room, kitchen and lovely garden.

The property is conveniently located in the quiet residential area of Morden, just 8 minutes’ walk from South Merton Station (Thames Link), less than 1 mile from Morden Underground Station (Northern Line – 15 mins walk or 10 mins by bus) and close to the open green spaces and leisure facilities of Morden Park. The 164 bus route takes 12-15 minutes to Wimbledon Station. There is a Sainsbury’s local a few minutes’ walk away. There is free on-street parking available.

The lady’s interests include reading the newspaper and doing the crossword, watching some TV (films, travel programmes, Eastenders, quizzes etc), playing some card games, crafting/knitting, watercolour painting, and going to church on Sundays.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a mature, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home.
