What the Opportunity entails:
An older lady with reduced mobility and memory is seeking a Sharer for her flat to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.
She would value the reassurance of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight, particularly during the week. The role would include some general practical help around the home with laundry, light cleaning and tidying, and cooking for -or alongside - her, as well as ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.
The accommodation on offer is withing a retirement community, so is a quiet and safe environment. The Sharer will have a good-sized bedroom which is currently being cleared out, so new furniture will be discussed with the Sharer. There is shared use of the bathroom, kitchen and sitting room.

The lady is intelligent and has a Doctorate of Sociology. She watching the news and likes keeping up with current affairs, and occasional interesting conversations. She does have memory loos and will repeat things, and forget to turn things off, hence the reason for having a Sharer, and some help with cooking and keeping an eye on things. She is happy in her own company, so this would suit someone friendly and helpful, but who also leads a quiet life and has their own work/studies/interests. The lady has a partner she sees at the weekends (either at her flat, or his home), so all support would be given during the week, with weekends free
She also has a Carer and a supportive daughter.
As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker, who is happy to help around the home and looking for settled accommodation, preferably for a year or potentially longer.
