Today we are absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of the Homeshare Association, which aims to be the recognised voice of homeshare in the UK and strengthen collaborations between the homeshare market and the health and social care sector.
The Homeshare Association is the result of months of work, planning, and dedication from a trio of strong, well-established homeshare providers. Share and Care Homeshare, Supportmatch Homeshare, and THE HomeShare joined forces to create this new organisation; a much-needed development and step forward for the market.
The Homeshare Association aims to increase awareness within government and the health and social care sector on homeshare as a mainstream option to support older people and adults living with a variety of needs.
Through our collective experience, we are fully aware that the homeshare movement is rapidly gaining pace and the launch of the Homeshare Association comes at a pivotal time. With health and social care under significant pressure, the need for alternative support routes is increasing, and there is a very strong case for homeshare.
As a membership organisation, the Homeshare Association will also ensure the highest standards and professionalism are maintained, with homeshare providers required to meet strict criteria to gain approval for membership.
Caroline Cooke, co-founder said, “It is incredibly exciting to launch the Homeshare Association. It’s not only an opportunity to set high standards for the homeshare market and connect with health and social care, it’s a chance to drive change; to ignite conversation around the impact of homeshare and acknowledge the important role it plays in supporting older people. Watch this space as the homeshare movement is coming!”
